on F-26 i have cut -01 R and -02R to proper lengths..but with the 3/4" set back on the front for the 14 deg bend the rear longerons cover the last row of rivet holes a little..my skin measures 2809mm long and upper longeron measures 2786mm do i cut back longerons?

Hope I understand your question.... the longeron mounts on the skin starting from the bend line.
It runs to the rear of the skin and stops about 1" from the end of the skin. Your lengths of 2786
and 2809 are correct.

Hope this helps.

i have doubled and triple checked my measurements..when you subtract the two measurements you come up with 23mm difference. if you subtract 19mm from 23mm (the amount to set back of the 19mm for the 14deg bend)your only left with 4mm. the last set of rivet holes are 6.3mm from the end of skin thuss covering holes.. thanx for any help Billy

You're not the first to make a mistake, nor the last. Move on

Yep ... I would only add to keep all the parts you screw up as many times they can be used to make other stuff later ...

Anybody can do it right the first time. It takes real skill to fix a screw up.

I did something similar. I thought I was being smart when laying out my fusealage skins. I used the 1” mark on the ruler instead of the end thinking it would make for a more accurate measurement. Unfortunately I still marked and cut the skins at the plans length making them 1” too short. I didn’t realize it until I started riveting things together. I honestly thought about shortening the whole airplane by 1” but ultimately just made new skins and turned the scrap ones into wing ribs. This won’t be your last mistake. The nice thing is that they are all recoverable with time and a little material.

I bought a couple of extra parts along the way (still have a spare elevator on a shelf in the hangar). Bad measurements happen to the best. Here's one that was caught in time:

I had days when I left the hangar feeling elated ... and many when my belly was full of humble pie.
