Wing main spar page (WIX-W14 for Waiex)

Postby Bryan Cotton » Mon Nov 02, 2015 7:34 pm

Hey all,
I am trying to locate the root rib angles. The big view of the left spar gives a 19 1/64" dimension from the center tooling hole. Detail E shows 19". On the right spar it shows 19 39/64" on the big view, and 19 -9/32" on detail A.
I just noticed the metric measurement is consistent.

That's why I built mine with a metric ruler!

I noticed an error. Left and right spar both indicate WIX-W19-09 root rib angle go forward. On the left spar -08 must go forward so the root rib stays parallel to the fuse. Do the Sonex plans have this too? What page number is it?

Bryan, this might be the same error I alerted Sonex to awhile back. I believe there is an update to the plan page on their website.

edit: The revision is here: http://www.sonexaircraft.com/support/waiex_revs.html

1.21.14 WIX-W14 B Detail E
Call-outs reversed for WIX-W19-08 and -09
Corrected call-outs for WIX-W19-08 and -09.

Also check out the revised Detail E regarding the hardware callouts.
