Landing gear on SNX-L01

I have just seen the engineering note at the top of the page SNX - L01 regarding the upper bolt in the landing gear attach bracket. The new bolt required is a standard AN4-30 using a castle nut and cotter pin. Of course I have just realised the bolts supplied from Aircraft Spruce are the older type AN4C30A SS undrilled bolts and two nyloc nuts. I expect the solution is to just order again the correct hardware however is there any other reason these bolts can't be used? I assume the plans were changed for a reason.

Mike is correct. Here is a link to the service bulletin.

Someone else mentioned that the concern is only with elevated heat levels. I believe that 450ºF was what was quoted and if your gear legs are ever that hot you have other things to be worried about. ;)

But as I understood it if one was concerned about it that a sacrificial coating could be used on the bolts. I used a light coat of wheel bearing grease when installing the bolts.

Also keep in mind that the axle bolts are part of the Service Bulletin. I needed a different size axle bolt as I have the Tracy O'Brien axles on my Sonex supplied gear legs.

Just a heads up ...
