Hehehehe. Ok. I feel much better now. Sore from installing the fairleads in the aft fuselage though.

What!?!?! You can't let down the brotherhood of sleep deprived homebuilders! What if we all did that, think of how many fewer airplanes would darken the skies!

Hey Joe,

I thought I was the old man in the group. I'm right behind you at 57.

BTW, you must absolutely love the work you do ... what a great job to have!

Sorry guys I have you all beat I turn 68 in two weeks. Wife says I should retire from flying let alone be building. Over the past 4 years I have had two major accidents, one in a pickup and one on a motorcycle, both caused by old folks.

She is afraid this old guy might cause the next in a sonex. She is afraid I will for get to do something important. I tell her don't worry it will only hurt for a split second.

Hi Pete,

We are quite a ways off the subject here but your story sounds familiar. In 2011 I was struck from behind on the interstate while riding my bike to the airport. Never seen him coming at such a high rate of speed. As I was flying through the air I was sure I was done for. The Grace of God and a helmet kept me here. Don't ride motorcycles anymore. I'm not scared of my riding but I can't trust others with their head down in an electronic device.

I have given some passing thought to when to give up flying. As long as the gray matter can make good judgement calls and the body can muscle the plane out of the hangar, I figure I'll continue. Seen several pilots in their 80's and even early 90's still flying. Gives me great hope that I should enjoy a number of years still.

Blessings,

Dale
