Seems like a lot, the 1/8" that is. You could move the hinge as far as practical on the flap, and shim the wing hinge down.

I've flown a 103. I left the spoilers cracked in my L33 once and boy the day was a lot better once I realized my mistake. I've also towed a 102 with a super cub. We weren't climbing very well then I spied the orange. A quick radio message and in they went.

Hey thanks for the tip on using the angle and shim to drill the new hinge...worked great. Flap surface is now even with the wing skin.

I checked out in the club (Philadelphia Glider Council) L19 in the fall and will start flying the Pawnee when the WX improves. Between instructing in the 103's, towing and the Sonex build I'll be busy...

Excellent, glad to hear your flap is good. I miss gliders and the Pawnee. I have more Pawnee time than any other single type in my logbook.

Bryan....I've been having the same problem with my flaps/ailerons being proud (or shy with the ailerons). Followed your thread on pages 82-83 and I'll be giving that a shot!!! Looks like a great solution!! Thanks!.
