I've done the same thing, with great success!

NOTE: If you use an aluminum wedge, it may eventually wear out as the forces oval the hole you drill in it. A steel wedge would be more durable; or you can just make 2 or 3 of the wedges to get you through building the entire airframe (which is what I've done).

Noel/Ryan,
I had whipped out my wedge. You can see it in the pic! Could not figure out how to grind up the HF riveter, seemed like it would still hit. I have never worn out a wedge, I always seem to lose them first. I think a narrow riveter and a wedge will be a score for me. Stay tuned!

Ok guys,
Rizzz is officially my Hero of the Week. Here is the PRG410 at work:

For three rivets I used the tool directly. For the last one I needed the wedge. End result:

My ebay bought riveter initially didn't work, so I took it apart. The pawls seemed good, and there was some light wear on the pivots, but it seemed like it should work. I messed around with the spring placement and it started working. Unfortunately the clip shot across the hangar when I took it apart, so I used duct tape as a detaining device.

Sonexbuilders, you need one of these!

:) Glad to hear it worked out for you Brian, that tool has been a life saver on more than one occasion during my 6 years of building.
