Machined Cable Fairlead Mounts

Postby racaldwell » Tue Oct 10, 2017 1:28 pm

It's been real quiet over here in the Xenos area so I that I'd post my latest part I made. I have been making the page after page of pieces for the aft fuselage and now ready to start assembling. One of the last parts was the cable fairlead phenolic blocks. I discovered I didn't have any 3/4" phenolic in the hangar, or if I did, I couldn't find it. I did have a bar of 6063T6 3/4x1-1/2" aluminum. So I thought I'd machine out the parts on the mini-mill my hangarmate brought it when he upgraded his garage milling machine. So here is a picture of the first parts I have ever made with a milling machine.

Also noticed that page called for a 0.090" spacer that was listed as a kit part. It wasn't in my kit and the packing list doesn't list it. I bought a strip of 3/32" 6061T6 from McMaster-C & made them.
