I assembled the left hand side with similar results. This time I was careful to take the springback out of the flanges, so the bottoms were 90 and the tops matched the angle of the front spar in the plans. I did not think that would make a difference for a dry fit, as on the right side the clecoes were able to pull everything in without difficulty. I checked the straightness of the aft spar and the forward spar (with the hockey stick removed for convenience) and they were good. Any ideas? I have the question into Sonex tech support.

Ok, I found that WIX-T11-09 rib was the culprit. It was too long, both parts. I am going to hack off the angled tab and rivet on another to make the proper spacing. Lesson learned: if things don't fit measure all the parts and compare to the plans.

We riveted together the right hand tail skeleton. I used AN426 4-4's as I had a regular #30 dimple die I was willing to grind down. These are Adam's first bucked rivets.

We finished riveting the skeletons together. I drilled on the hinges tonight. I made a little tool to help with the drilling - a piece of furring strip with a groove to clear the hinge.

Skins clecoed. Need to bring the bottoms all up to #30, Adam and I did the tops earlier.
