Fairings are done. I did #6 screws and nutplates.

Here is my plan to beef up the outside wheelpant mount. I made some 1/8" thick aluminum washers. The ID was reamed to .75" so they just slip on the axles.

They will rivet to some larger .025" thick circles, which will rivet to the wheelpant. The washer helps locate the wheelpant with respect to the axle.

Here they are. I bonded and riveted them on. The rivets are some old Avex aluminum flush rivets, with a smaller head than the stainless ones in our kits. The large washer pilots on the axle to help locate the wheelpant.

I tapped the axles for a 10-32 screw. Adam drilled some holes to trap the hinge pins on the top and bottom hinge pins that hold the cowl together. On the bottom it slips into a hole on the outlet ramp, on top it goes through the fuel door.

Also he riveted up our mechanical master switch torque tube.

We are working fuel plumbing. A quick mockup makes it seem like we won't need a 90 degree arm riveted on.

More progress on the mockup. We needed a slight bend to clear the fuel sump. I got a little too crazy when I trimmed the tube, needs a little more length or an actual knob. But, the hole in the panel is real. Here is the off position:

In checking for interferences we discovered the mixture cable hits the OBS. Not by much. I see the fabrication of a pair of angle spacers in my future.

I painted the panel and subpanel today.

Also did a bunch on the hovercraft. We modified the carb and fuel tank mounting to compensate for the 22 degree tip of the engine.

Forgot to mention we riveted the tank cover on. I painted the rivets.

I didn't like how my fuel routing came out. Because of the bends in the hard line to line up with the bulkhead fitting, I had a low spot inside the cabin. So, I made an angle shim to get the bulkhead fitting barely downhill in the 3 point attitude.

This moved my fuel filter up too, but it is all downhill in the 3 point attitude.

I must have the shortest fuel run ever. I think the hard line will be good now.
