We have a few "beauty marks" where we did a poor job of flipping the wing. Three more from the polisher catching the edge of the sheet. One on the tail, one on the fuselage, one on the wing. We will never make Grand Champion at Oshkosh. All that pales compared to knowing I built the airplane with my kid. If I was a perfectionist I am sure I would have driven him away. I've seen it happen. I do not use cleco protectors and that does not seem to be an issue for me. The cleco injuries from flipping would not have been prevented by a piece of soft plastic.
