Now that school is out Adam has been back to the hangar. Here he is working the aft spar carrythrough.

cool! btw - what was the outcome on the 'two sonex holes in the carry through' issue? (my kit arrives this afternoon - can't wait)

Kevin,
In the other thread I think Mike's response about one hole for the standard seat and one for the lowered seat is correct. I also think Chris's observation about the drawing error is relevant.

Here is a mockup of the new tank tunnel bottom made from flashing. I clecoed it in and refit the tank. Now I have to make a stainless one.

Rudder pedal blocks. Still have to open up the radius on the right block.

Pedals hung, just one bolt per side.

So, I set out to finish my fuel filler box. Was going to borrow a neighbor's plasma cutter. Found the shears did a fine job on the 1/2 hard 301.

I think I have to conclude that I am not good at this - just persistent. One paper template, two flashing templates and three stainless parts.

Fuel filler box bottom clecoed on. I have 13 hours into this stupid thing. On my next Waiex I will make my own parts to the same design as the stock tunnel but 1/4" deeper.

Glad you got it sorted out, I hated working with the stainless. Easy to bend, a chore to cut and drill and deburr. In looking at your pictures, the only place that might have possibly made a difference is the height of your glareshield at the firewall. I made mine go as high as possible, such that I had to trim corners off the firewall attach angles

From your pictures though, I'm not sure even that would have been enough. Anyway, problem solved!

Ryan,
I had to trim my corners also. I probably could have moved it up a bit like you say though.

I am at the point where I can only do so much more on the fuselage until I rig the wings. I clecoed in a bunch of junk partly for coolness and partly for storage:

Pulled out my avionics. My intercom is back at the house.

Pulled down the ailerons!

They are dirty. Also updated my signature:

"[quote="Bryan Cotton"]Robbie,
That is awesome, like we have our own little club. Chicagoland Sonex builders that riveted the bottom of the box on first. Is Tony with us too?

So on the box I just did a control-Z. Then Adam riveted on the top. All is well."

Bryan,
I just started the turtle deck and while looking over hints for this, I came across the bottom cross tie rivet mistake. I also drilled out the same (control -Z) then went ahead with the correct procedure.
Aaaaa...it looks like I can join the club...are there still any memberships open?
