I wish I had purchased whatever brand ELT you have instead of the Artex. The Artex says specifically NOT to attach the unit to the skin (page 40 of the installation manual), which resulted in a week-long fabrication of a bracket.

Mine is a Narco. One of my hangar neighbors gave it to me. He had upgraded to a 406. Fortunately I don't have a manual for it, so no prohibition against a direct mount to the floor. Unfortunately I have nuts on the outside of the skin but at least it's simple.

The tailcone floor is riveted on. A major milestone!

This let me screw on my nifty VOR antenna. Boy those AN525 screws in the back were a pain to get by myself.

I've mounted the display for my fuel tank camera.

Here is my camera mount on the landing counter.

I made a test pattern and taped it to the tank.

On my next Waiex I'll plan the wire routing to go up and over the tank field of view.

Note: landing counter = CDI. My kid's instructor used to use one to count landings.

I bent up an 0.016 hat section, 16" long. That's Martha Stewart shelf paper on there.

Neat wires.

This came out really good.

This completes the aircraft wiring. Onto other stuff.

This picture is 3 gallons in level flight. It looks like I will not be able to see 4 and 5 gallons on the ground, and I'm guessing 7 and 8 in flight as they will be hidden behind the wire bundle. I'm ok with that. On my next Waiex that bundle is definitely going up and over.

Some GSE:

Adam is at school but I'm saving the last rivet for him.

The floor is riveted on, mostly. Need to yank out the clecoes and rivet the remainder, minus Adam's rivet.
