One Adam is plenty! Especially with college bills on the horizon.

I messed with my fairings all day today and got them clecoed on. I am in the process of riveting them to my polishing table so I can make them shine.

I discovered a couple things. One, if your nuvite F9 dries out, you can mix in some mineral spirits. Two, for polishing small fairings, get a HF headlight polisher kit. Use the small wheel that has foam and Velcro. You can cut out a piece of polisher pad and stick it on. Speed is low so less hazard to small parts, and it is reversible.

Here is my landing gear fairing pattern made out of flashing.

I made this tool out of a piece of pipe to push and pull hinge pins in and out. They go in a lot easier if you get them twisting a little bit as you push.

I used some blue tape to "add" material to my flashing templates. Now time to make the real parts.

I did a lot of trimming, hacking, and blistering. I think I am getting there on the right fairing. To clear the axle weldment bolt, I made a couple of blisters. For a die I used the head of a carriage bolt and I drilled a 7/8" hole in a block of wood for the female die.

I have actually trimmed more than this picture shows. I've also cut off the entire lower top corner so I can get the brake line inside the fairing. I am close to aligned with the airflow.

Your filter looks to be the same as the one I installed. It has a 40 micron screen inside, that's .0016 inches. I cleaned mine after the first seven hours thinking I'd find some fiberglass and fuel tank grunge, but found very little on it. The stuff I did find I believe could have easily passed through the AeroInjector. The DAR who did my final inspection and paperwork was concerned it was overkill and might clog up too easily. Do you think 40 micron is a bit too small? What's in a typical gascollator? I think most guys rely just on the finger strainer in the gas tank.

Mine is 40 micron. It is also rated to flow 130 GPH. I don't think it will plog easily, plus I'll be putting nothing in my tank but 100 LL.

Adam got both sides riveted together. We used some old flush Avex aluminum flush rivets I had laying around. I figured we should save some CCP-42s for the floor. I did the two pin method and poked it through the floor and wheelpant. Very simple and seems surprisingly solid.
