A slight diversion

Postby Bryan Cotton » Sat Apr 22, 2017 2:02 pm

In 4 months Adam will need a reliable car to go to the local community college. They have a program where he gets dual college and high school credit. So, we are rebuilding my '99 Saturn SL2. I've had it since new. It has a 5 speed and this is the car Adam learned to drive in.

Thought I should update the gang - I see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have replaced the front subframe, rebuilt the suspension, redone the headliner, replaced the brake lines with nicopp, and we got the engine back from the machine shop today. Six more weeks estimated then we are back to the Waiex.

Looks like we are wrapping up our diversion this weekend. First start of the Saturn after rebuild and we have since taxied around the hangars.

cool!
Taildragger Waiex in progress, tail done, wings done, about to mate wings to fuse,
then cowl, canopy, paint (photos): flush rivets, turbo aerovee, acro ailerons
(I built my RV7A and happily flew it for about 500 hrs)
