Life after Sonex.

When you finally feel like maybe it's time to move on past the Sonex into something more sedate this is a nice little toy. It's an Aerodrome Aeroplanes Fokker Eindecker EII replica. 75% of full size and just barely big enough for my lard butt to fit. Waiting for the DAR to schedule a visit.

Very cool! If not a jet, then I'd love to build a WW1 replica someday.

That's a very cool project Charlie! What kind of engine did you install? Any idea on how many hours you have in the build?

Let us know how the Phase 1 goes!

What engine? Looks like a good candidate for the Rotec Radial.

An Eindecker was the first C/L model I built at age 6 or 7. Still have a soft spot for the type. If I ever went down the Airdrome Airplanes route it would have to be a Dridecker for me. At Rhinebeck they captured my fancy. My dad used to fly me out there when I was a kid. Cool airplane Charlie!

Not sure. The airframe was built back in 2004 and then it sat untouched until last Nov. The co-owner Carl and I have worked on it 3-4 days a week since then except when it was too cold for our unheated hangar.

I love the light up gun! That will be a blast to fly! Please share videos once you start flying!

I asked Carl about how long it took to built the airframe. He did it in 260 hours. We probably have another 200 in it since last Nov.
