AOPA Pilot - $99,900 C152

Did anybody read the article about the Aviat refurbished C152 this month? I like the 152 but I think somebody needs a reality check.

I've always had a soft spot for the Cessna 150 & 152's. They're fun little airplanes; easy to fly, cheap, and tough. Similar in more than one way to the Sonex really.

That being said, trying to sell an old airplane with limited utility, even if it has been restored, for that much money will be an issue for them. There are too many decent examples on the market for 1/3 of that price. They aren't even putting a decent panel mounted GPS in this new one to give some BASIC IFR capability.

I'm sure they'll sell a few of them based on people's love for the design, but I doubt they sell more than just a few.
