The sky around C77 has been thick with Sonexes lately. Robbie stopped by today. Here he is on departure:

Today was one of those days you dream about all winter. I flew three times in my Sonex and twice with a friend in his Remos.

Bryan - great to meet you and your family! Your project is INCREDIBLE! Can't wait to see it fly.

Adam posted this R/C vid on youtube.

For someone who has not had much training, or flown R/C in 4 years, he shows some real talent. It is sort of like Luke Skywalker between "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi."

Sort of off topic, but if you are into this sort of thing here is Adam's first Tae Kwon Do tournament match:

Sort of back on topic, we were helping a friend pick up a ping pong table in Genoa, IL. Drove past a farm strip and Adam spotted a Onex tail.

The airport owners are a husband and wife team. Here they are doing a loose formation pass, Steve in the Waco and Tina in the 180.

Everybody was flying this evening.

Happy Independence Day folks! Here in the neighborhood you can always count on people to lend a hand lifting large parts, to loan you clecoes, turn parts on a lathe, or any aviation themed need. The neighbors have more to offer than that though. Adam is headed to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area this summer during Oshkosh week. He just completed the Canoeing merit badge at summer camp and is pretty fired up about canoes. One set of neighbors saw him on the pond and offered the use of their canoe if we ever needed it. The church group planning the BWCA outing has a meeting at the local park for both food and canoeing as not all the kids have earned the merit badge. So, we have our neighbor's canoe tucked away for the meeting. Today the boys were out on the pond and I was offered a third canoe to borrow!

What great neighbors I have. I truly believe aviation attracts the best people.

EAA1414 has breakfasts on the second Sunday of the month. Jim and Monica flew out. Good to see them and good to see some Sonex representation.

I need to figure out how to transport 3 canoes.

I stopped in also with my son Josh. We were parked a couple rows behind Jim and Monica.

Sorry we missed you Robbie. Adam and I both have a cold and we got up late. Very cool that you got your son out flying.

A flock of Interstate Cadets camped overnight. There were a few more out of the frame of the picture.

It would be cool to host a mass Sonex flyout of C77 to KOSH some year. We are 101 NM south of there.
