Battery powered rivet gun

Considering a build and would like to keep the neighbors happy by minimizing compressor noise.

Anyone have a recommendation / experience with a battery powered rivet gun ?

How about a high speed battery powered dill ?

Any decent non- Harbor Freight battery powered drill should be fine.

I've drilled every hole on my plane with a Milwaukee M12 drill and I have no regrets!

I used a small air compressor and a harbor freight rivet gun for rivets, but that's the only air tool I used. Milwaukee has an M12 rivet puller now too so if I was starting now I would just buy that and not mess with air at all.

My vote is also for the Milwaukee 12 volt drill. It is slightly higher speed than most others which is good for small dia. bits, and is compact and light weight. Tired hands make mistakes. The optional 4 AH battery runs a long time, but the small 2 AH batteries are lighter weight and fit in tighter places.

DeWalt guy myself. My trusty 20v drill has built my Waiex twice over. I bought an air drill prior to build, used it a couple of times. So much easier to just chuck the bit in the Dewalt.
Had I found a cordless rivet puller early on, I'd be all over that. On my third Harbor Fright one now. They work great until they don't, so buy the replacement warrantee.

I don't have any experience with a battery powered rivet gun, but I scratch built my plane for 5 years with a cordless drill from Home Depot. I personally found no reason whatsoever why a corded or an air drill is needed. I used an air drill for about 2 days. It sucked. Waiting for the compressor to come to pressure, managing the darn hose, the noise, and the unnecessariness of something turning that fast for aluminum. I know some people swear by them, but I frankly don't get it. Just my 2 cents. :-)

My DeWalt 5 gallon air compressor is pretty quiet. It's a small capacity but adequate for most things. I had a 30 gallon while building, but it took forever to get to pressure, and it was LOUD. The DeWalt is quiet enough the I never mind it coming on more often. And it charges to pressure much faster. Much easier to move around, too.

For anything cordless, make sure you have a second battery and you rotate them so you always have one ready.
