Rod End Bearings Part #'s

Hello Everyone,

As my Waiex approaches 300 hours, I'm looking into some additional preventive maintenance items that I may need at some point in the future. One such item is the slow replacement of some rod end bearings as they slowly start to develop small amounts of play through usage.

I looked at my old plans and see they're listed as "Aurora MW-3M-16 Rod End Bearings", but a search on Aircraft Spruce and Wicks doesn't give me any returns for that part number.

I'm curious if anyone has a new part number for these items, or if anyone with a newer set of plans can take a look at the -C03 plans page to see if that's how the rod ends are still labeled. Has anyone ordered new ones lately?

I'm in no hurry just thought I'd ask!

Thanks everyone!
Mike

Mike,
Double check my P/Ns, but I think my kit had this:
MM-4 AURORA BEARING MM-4
04-01984 SS610-6 OILITE BUSHING STRAIGHT

I had to buy a couple more for something, and I found the P/Ns on an old email.

Edit: those are male rod ends, not female. The basic idea is to sleeve down the 1/4" hole in the ball, and I think the plans call that out as a substitute.

Thanks Bryan! I'll try to look into it some more. The ones I'm looking for are the female rod ends that thread onto the end of the steel torque tubes. I think my Waiex has around 12 of them all said.

I'll keep looking into it. Thanks again!

Hey Michael
Plans say Aurora MW-3M-16 or to use a sleeved down Aurora MW-5. I used the MW-5 for the Sonex.

I snipped this from the waiex drawing revisions
