Precise measuring T-Rule

Postby dbdevkc » Sun Nov 06, 2016 9:39 am

I have one of these Incra T-Rules and love it. Makes for extremely precise, accurate and repeatable markings. Just use an ultra-fine sharpie marker as opposed to the pencil or scribe shown in the video.

That's a pretty neat little tool. I guess avoid using a scribe because it might make the holes inaccurate after too much use?

Sam,
Scribing essentially scratches the metal, and scratches are bad on structural parts. That is why we use fine point sharpies. Generally we don't use pencil on aluminum due to the galvanic potential between graphite and aluminum.
