Scotch brite wheels?

Postby dhogue » Mon Nov 23, 2015 9:24 am

Hello,

Finally decided to not sand all stress risers by hand. Spend far too much time on that.

so:

Bought a 6" medium coarse Scotch-brite wheel for my Delta Bench grinder.
The mounting hole is too small for the grinder shaft.

I am posting to ask if you guys can tell me a specific vendor and part number for a Scotch-Brite wheel (6 or 8") that is right for a Bench grinder?

Needed Grinder wheel dimensions:
The disk spindle size is 5/8"
Wheel width 1" (3/4" is ok)
Wheel diameter 8" (6" is ok)

Thanks,
Don

ACS has wheels with 1/2" or 1" thru holes, the 1/2" fit my harbor freight grinder. Not sure about a 5/8" hole.

Thanks Ryan.

That wheel, with the 1" hole will work.

None of the wheels have a 5/8 shaft opening but Grainger sells a 1" to 5/8" reduction adapter that makes it work.

They also sell reduction adapters from 1" to other dimensions: i.e. 1/4, 3/16 and more.

Next search: a quality pneumatic combination rivet puller/countersink dimpler.
Not pulling - by hand tool - the rest of the cherry rivets also dimpeling countersinks for Flush rivets for the remainder of my build.

When I 1st starting building Onex0173 I had the grand illusion I would do it - all by hand....What was I thinking????
