pulley replacement

pulley replacement

Hi all.
Has anyone replaced the supplied pulley /bronze bushing combo for a ball bearing type?If so what did you use?
Am I wrong to think that a ball bearing pulley will be better? To read Tony Bingelis on the subject one is led to believe that an anti-friction ball bearing pulley is superior to a bronze sleeved type and the larger the diameter the less friction created. If I read it right P126 The Sportplane Builder, the 1" pulley called for is inadequate.
Maybe I'm over thinking this.

Mike on the photos I posted on the tri gear steering notice that I used an AN pulley aprox 1 3/4" dia due to the tension and 90 degree change of direction. On my rudder cables I used what Sonex plans call for as it is a pretty straight pull and they are used primarily as cable guides. I have no concerns about their longevity.
