I have the book to pt the aerovee 2.1 together but i dont see any vlave adjustment , dose anyone have it printed out ? JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW I DID FIND IT IN THE BOOK BUT THEN DUE TO LOW COMP AND SOME LITE SCORING I HONED AND REPLACED RINGS AIRCRAFT HAS ITS FIRST HOUR ON IT NOW AND EVERYTHING IS LOOKING GOOD

On the Sonex website there is also a video done by Jeremy Monnett on adjusting the Aerovee valves.

Have you gone to the Sonex transition flight training yet? I highly recommend you go before you attempt your first flight in your new Sonex.

You need to be very careful as the second owner of a home built aircraft. You do not know the aircraft as well as the builder. Please go to the Sonex transition training.

If you don't, you are an accident waiting to happen.

At the Sonex transition training you can also get all your questions answered at the factory by experts.

I think that's a little strong. Transition training is an excellent idea, but many Sonexes flew without it before there was transition training. If you can do it, go. If not, then try to fly in another Sonex, or make sure you are current in a plane with similar flight characteristics.

I have no dog in this fight, but I am a firm believer in transition training. So much so that I just returned from driving to and from Ohio from Chicagoland (6 hours each way) to do transition training with Michael Farley.

I am also doing it with the factory in a week.

My experience is different than anyone else so all I can say is this will give me the confidence and the sight picture to make that first flight.

As Mike Smith said - if you can't get transition training at least get current in something similar.

Nothing wrong with transition training. It's probably a good thing.

But "an accident waiting to happen" without it?? I don't think so.

I read the manual, talked to other Sonex pilots, and went out and flew the plane.
It isn't such a big deal.
