Sonex Build Status and Completion Photos

Postby Sonex1517 » Sun Oct 19, 2014 6:58 pm

I am very happy to report I have now successfully rigged my wings!

A huge thank you to Tony Sabos and Dave Henricksen for their all day help, and to Robert Frost for the excellent advice in Crossville. And Scott Meyers - thanks for the tool loan! (I also borrowed one from a gentleman in Florida whose name escapes me at this very tired moment)

Now on to the next 99% to complete this thing!

Sonex Build Status and Completion Photos

Postby Sonex1517 » Sat Dec 20, 2014 12:08 am

Been a while since I updated.

This week I built the instrument panel, test fit it, and drilled the throttle, mixture, and starter in place.

Then I sat in the Sonex and made turbo noises.

As many know I am old school and wanted round gauges. I did cave in and install a GRT mini after winning a discount at a fly in. I am happy with the results so far.

On to completing the AeroVee and turbo!

Photos look great! I do like the position of your starter button. You might want to trim your fingers a bit ... ;)

Looks great Robbie, we need a video so we can hear those simulated turbo sounds.
