Awesome, looks good! Honestly, I found the tail to be harder than the fuselage (so far). Maybe because it was my first work, or maybe just because there are a lot of angles and little bits that all have to line up just right.

Keep at it! Are you starting the HS next?

Andy - yes, Horizontal Stabilizer is next - wing kit is on order and arrives late August.

Kevin - thanks!! It's kind of one of those "oh wow!" moments.....

Introducing Sonex 1409

Postby chris » Tue Aug 09, 2011 3:58 pm

I purchased a set of pre owned plans. The previous owner was nice enough to include his rough cut to length angle as part of the deal. I recieved the shipment yesterday. I was so excited to get something built that I pulled the first small piece at random from the box. I looked it up in the plans and started to measure and mark and cut and drill and file and sand...... and I think that I have myself an airplane part. Needs a little smoothing but here it is:

Looking good boss! Keep it up!

It's probably the picture, but some of the edges appear to be a little rough. If you have a scotchbrite wheel it will make easy work of perfecting the parts.

Hopefully by now you've got it down...I hope you can finish the rest of the parts soon. :D
