What the heck - it's free to ask...

On page SNX-T08 where the rudder skin is drilled up, I think I have the rudder correct' but....I had t go back and look at an earlier page to be sure and I think I have it correct.

I searched other build logs - do I have the "tab" in this photo correct? It goes outside the rudder skin? (This is the piece used to secure the rudder closed when it is riveted...no idea of a better description)

Yes, it goes outside as you have it, and the rudder hinge attaches to it. Assuming the spacing is correct on the hole you drilled, what you have in that pic looks good.

Hey Robbie...I highly recommend you make a "hinge template" if you have not already. All hinges on the Sonex are the same type piano hinges, and are all drilled the same at 1" intervals and measured down a certain amount I cant remember (1/4" I think?).

Take an aluminum yardstick, and at each 1" mark measure down the correct amount and drill a #40 hole. Now whenever you go to make a hinge, you just have to lay the yardstick up against the hinge roll, line it up on one end, clamp it, and drill. Your hinge rivets will now all be perfectly spaced and you didn't have to spend more than five minutes doing it!
