Gear Wiggle

Hi Everyone,
Today I was into the Landing gear portion of my annual and noticed my right gear has developed a wiggle. Here is a video:

The left is much better than this. Most of the movement is at the top connection. What do you all think?

Hi Bob, definitely too much. It looks like you have done a good job of reinforcing the bolt-hole in the axle so I would guess that the top hole in the gear leg has become enlarged slightly. You need to check both ends anyway.

Be interesting to know what's worn. Lot to be said for gluing the gear legs in place.

Did you do the service bulletin on the gear leg bolts? Is it possible that the upper bolt has broken? I would pull the gear leg out and see what's worn or broken. That amount of slop is not normal.

Yes, I did the bolt change a few years back and used larger bolts. By that I mean as pick up diameter bolts as I could get. I will remove the bolt in the care like tomorrow And see what the deal Liz. What kind of glue did you guys use?

I used T88 but only because I had some left over from a previous project. I used it on the top and bottom of the gear legs plus the tail spring. It needs to be heated to remove anything but I can live with that.

Would definitely pull top bolts and inspect before next flight.

If over-sized or oval holes, I had more movement than I liked when new and was able to drill out both top and bottom for nice tight fit of 5/16" bolts. That was 5 years ago. No problems.

I used this:

I still went for the best bolt fit possible. I view the glue as a helper. The axles and tail spring didn't fit as nice so the epoxy is taking up the space.
