I managed to fill my tail dragger up after I did some maintenance on the tank. Had 16 gallons in it till I lifted the tailwheel in the hangar and a bunch poured out of the vent.

I can get 15 gallons in mine. I have a fuel flow indicator installed which is very accurate and a capacitance type sensor fuel guage couple to my EIS 4000. Both are calibrated to indicate 15 gallons when full. I depend on my fuel flow indicator for an accurate indicator of fuel left. The capacitance fuel guage varies as the level in the tank varies due to the shape of the tank. I have always used 100LL and nothing but 100LL. The capacitance sensor is very sensitive to different specific gravity fuel. I learned that from a prior plane that I was flying on Amoco 93 without ethanol. Then Amoco 93 with ethanol was introduce and my first fill up with it screwed my calibration up. I had to empty the tank and do another calibration with ethanol free fuel and never tried the ethanol fuel again.

When I originally calibrated my level gauge the tank took 61 litres (16 gallons). If you have a top fuel vent you should be able to completely fill the tank of a tail-dragger. Just recently the fuel cap has started leaking when the tank is really full so it looks like a new Rodger Connolly type cap is in my future. I'm not familiar with the EIS 4000, but with the Stratomaster the fuel level can be calibrated at intermediate stages so it is fairly accurate through the whole range.
