Hi - just wondering if anyone knows where I can find some plans for wing stands. I know there used to be some plans on the old Yahoo forums, but can't seem to find them now. Thanks....

Vern, if you know anyone building an RV, the wooden box that the spars/wings come in work well. Pad the inside bottom and sides of the box with some cheap foam (its only about 12 or 14 inches deep) and put the wings in leading edge down. Run a long wood or drywall screw with a large area washer on it through an existing hole in the protruding end of the Sonex spar into the end of the wooden box. They'll stay there for a Loooonnnng time.

I built that stand and it works great. I will say though, a stand like the one in Photo #4 might be even better (the aileron pushrods are behind the spar so that wouldn't be an issue.)
Here's a link to my blog, my experience building that stand. Most of the bolts called for in those instructions are too long and I had to cut them.

I used these plans for mine and they worked out great.
I am going to reuse my Sonex wing stand for my RV-14 wings with some modifications.
