Considering a build in Colombia, thoughts?

First post here.. I'm considering doing a build in Colombia.

I've got a few thoughts and questions:

1) I live at 9600 Ft so I'd obviously be flying above that
2) I'm originally from the US but down here most of the time. If I build it down here and move it up to the US later is that process a nightmare?
3) Anyone know about experimentals in Colombia? I saw 303 was built here, haven't contacted the guy
4) Other than knowing it's going to cost me about 30% more to import the kit is there anything else I should consider?
Edit: 5) Training, fly up to the US? Someone likely to come down or already be here?

Any other thoughts or knowledge you have to share is appreciated.

Hello Jered,

These are some excellent questions and I wish you the best of luck on your build should you decide to begin a project. As much as I want to help you on these questions, I can't help but think that the Sonex factory will probably be a much better location for you to receive qualified answers. In fact, if you would consider contacting Joe Norris at the factory, as a US qualified DAR I think he would be an excellent source of information for you. Regardless, I'm sure anyone at the factory will be more than happy to help you!

That's great advice, I'll make sure they get the message. I mistakenly assumed they spend quite a bit of time on these boards and would be popping in with an answer.
