Upgrade to the regular Skyview u won't regret it. The touch option not as valuable as most times hard to get a steady finger to touch where u need it. Easy to add 2 axis autopilot for $1500 as well.

I also am building a Onex and am getting close to the point of having to make a decision on what goes in the panel. At Airventure this summer I looked at Garmin, MGL and Dynon and I have to say the Dynon Skyview SE is my front runner. I just wish I could get a report from someone who is using it, I think it is a bit new and there are not a lot of installations yet.

I’d also recommend upgrading to the SkyView Classic or SkyView Touch. Since there are not a lot of the SE out there, you’re likely going to be buying new. One of the best parts of Dynon is their out of warranty support. I bought my touch for less than a new SE and for a flat $250, you can send it to Dynon and they’ll restore it to new. New bezel, new knobs, new software...whatever it takes. It just can’t be crashed and broken. That is $500.

There’s a 7” on vansairforce.net right now. And my friend is likely to be posting two SkyView packages soon (touch and a classic). If you’re patient, you can save a bundle and get great equipment.

Thank everyone for their input. After much study and anxiety concerning the expense I will be using Dynon. My wife encourages me not to scrimp on the expense as she does not want me hanging on lesser quality instruments. Good woman she is!!
