Amounts of wire

Postby allenmader » Wed Apr 09, 2014 8:03 am

Hi everyone,

Still putting 471 together. Does anyone have a good estimate of how much wire, size, etc I would need to order. Standard panel to say at best. I am using a Grandrapids EIS that I won for 50% off at Wisconsin Safty Seminar (Thanks Grandrapids).

Thanks,

Hi Allen,
I'm doing my wiring now, mine is very basic:

Here’s my initial order from B&C:

This was not nearly enough, since then I’ve ordered another 50ft of 20AWG, another 20ft of 18AWG and I bought a lot more ring terminals of every kind, about triple my original order. I did have enough of the fast-on terminals with my initial order but pretty much everything else was used up very quickly.

Hopes this gives you some indication of how much is needed.
You can see a lot more pictures and find other info on my kitlog page.

Thanks for posting that Micheal...I got my MGL xTreme recently and I'm now ready to place my wiring order w/ B&C. At least I now have something to go by.

Thanks Michael

You and another Sonex builder have made the job easier. I am not a electric and wire guy but this helps.
