Reviving old Waiex

Postby richardberttaylor » Thu Aug 03, 2023 1:07 pm

I have the intention of buying a Waiex that has been sitting for a few years. It seems like there is limited people who are willing to review the Jabaru even though it looks fairly standard. I would replace a lot of hoses, etc just due to sitting for 7 years. I believe the cylinders were pickled before sitting.
Then the question of how to get it flying and then get trained in a tail dragger or this specific tail dragger. Should try to get a Sonex CFI to fly with me or if they are so few and far between that I need other training options, like flying to some other airport and do it in someone else's plane.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am based in Central MN near Saint Cloud and Brainerd.
