Onx 197 made first trip around pattern sunday morning. Everything acted exactly as advertised. Flight only lasted about 10 minutes. Worst temp. Was1350 egt. Will try to post a couple photos. For those still building, don't give up, what a great feeling.

Excellent work!

How'd the airplane fly?
I'm getting close on my first flight in #119 and I can't wait.

Got 2nd flight in Thursday. Cruise power 2700 rpm. Cht 310. Egt ran 1320 up to 1400 at full rich. Thinking I may have to richen it up. Oil temp 140 and pressure was 45. Mag check during cruise showed zero rpm drop. Once strait and level was able to take my hand off and it flew straight and level but stick is off center. For the second day the onex was a Rockstar at the airport.

What type of indicated airspeed speeds are you shooting for on down wind, base and short final?

With my Aerovee I reduce rpm to the 2600 range and 100 mph on downwind and decide based on wind conditions how much flap I want. Abeam the numbers I reduce rpm to 1600 range and put in half or full flaps. Turn cross wind and maintain 80 mph, turn final on the VASI approach beam, while slowing to 70, flair at 60 and land just above stall speed. I couldn't do that without an AOA meter, which is home made by the way. Plans available on the internet.
