Sonex 1517 first flight

Postby Sonex1517 » Mon Oct 12, 2015 7:11 pm

Thanks everyone!

I was surprised today to find Aero-News ran an article by Jim Campbell about my first flight. It has my wife's YouTube video linked in the article. She made it to document the build. I am a lucky man.

Awesome! So much fun to watch another homebuilt plane take flight! Again, congrats! Can't wait to see it at OSH next year!

So good to see you on the Sonex web page, finally! Very nice video. It looks like you got in a lot of flight time. (Once around the pattern on my first flight, one bounced, aborted landing, and then wheels on the ground.) You looked supremely cool and confident :-)

Sonex 1517 first flight

Postby Sonex1517 » Tue Oct 13, 2015 9:04 pm

Thanks Dale! I was hoping to get there but got a little distracted. :-)

The transition training gave me that confidence. I really felt ready.

And Bryan, I married far above my pay grade. She's one of a kind and all mine.

I am a bit late, but congrats on first flight of 1517! I had to be away for a bit. I am looking forward to more news on how things go. I am thinking I am not really too far behind! :D
