Would you attend a Sonex open house this summer?

Postby Sonex1517 » Sat May 30, 2020 6:45 pm

On today’s Zoom meeting, I asked John Monnett about a possible Sonex open house fly in this summer.

There’s a lot that would clearly have to go right for this to happen, but he asked how many of us would be interested in attending.

So - if you would go to an event please reply here

For me, the answer is yes if it is on a weekend. I already had to give back my days off for Oshkosh due to Covid-19.

So who’s in?

Depending on the date I'll be there. I'm retired so every day is the weekend.

I'd be a no. Though RI has started re-opening - still doing everything possible to avoid situations where I meet new groups of people who have travelled from lots of different places. Each person brings a risk of infection from their groups. I can't afford to not work right now.

I would attend, so long as Wayne Daniels has plenty of "hand sanitizer" in the cooler for medicinal purposes!

Speaking of timing, I suggest considering later dates than the traditional AirVenture dates - maybe as late as Aug-Sep time frame. This gives more time to settle down and might encourage attendance. Also, hosting the event on Saturday would be my preference.

I would certainly like to attend and would try to be there as long as schedules, family obligations, and weather permit!

I agree with Jeff...perhaps something a little later than mid July may help the virus recovery and political climate calm down a little and allow more people to attend. Just a thought!
