News Flash! The local new media and Drake Tower has been notified that Sonex aircrafts will be filling the sky's of Northwest Arkansas. Weather looks to be perfect and we hope to have a great turnout. I remember when I was building my Sonex how much it help me to view completed Sonex aircraft and see them fly. It was the boost I sometime needed to get my project moving along. I encourage all those interested or currently building to come out and meet and network with other builders. I definitely benefitted from the support I received at events like this while I was building my Sonex. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Midwest Sonex Fly-In update! Just got word that we have had our first Sonex arrival for tomorrows fly-in. I wish we had an early bird award but did not think about that until now. I would like to send out a special thanks to Lonnie Prince for making sure we received the certificate for the Free “Yes I said Free” Prince Prop that will be given to one lucky builder or owner of a Sonex aircraft during tomorrows event. There was a slight mail delay but Lonnie made sure it arrived on time. Weather forecast tomorrow is Sun and Sonex!

Safe travels everyone! See you tomorrow...

Isaac and I are planning on arriving in the morning, coming from MS. If the weather cooperates, we'll see everyone tomorrow! Isaac is pretty excited to attend his first fly-in as a builder....

The 2018 Midwest Sonex Fly-In is in the books. We had a great turnout and a wonderful time seeing our Sonex friends and making new ones. The morning started at 8 am and Martha Moline from our local EAA chapter was nice enough to make everyone waffles. Bob Mika did a great interview with the local TV station KNWA. We had lots of people fly in to see the Sonex’s on display. We had a Sonex from Kansas, Texas, and Mississippi fly in. 35 enthusiasts viewed 5 Sonex Aircraft and 10 other aircraft including 3 RV, a Velocity, and one Gyro. Mark Kingman, Jeff and Isaac Shultz, and Mark Whiddon flew Sonex in from out of state. James Hume was the big door prize winner taking home the new Prince Prop. Mark Kingman also was a big winner taking home the 50% off GRT EFIS system. I think Mark might want to use that on a Sub Sonex kit! We had a wonderful time and I want to thank everyone for joining us and helping promote the great Sonex line of Aircraft!

I want to extend a big thanks to Ken and Frank for putting on the event this year. The crew at Drake Field did an outstanding job, and this year was a fantastic success! Isaac and I really enjoyed the time to catch up with old friends, and make some new ones. Next year we expect to see Ken's soon-to-fly SubSonex grace the ramp. If you want to see it fly up close and smell jet fumes, be sure to put it on your calendar!

See you all at AirVenture!

Ditto to Jeff’s comment. My dad and I had a great time. And thanks to Frank for giving me access to his Onex firewall forward.
Hope to fly to next year’s event.

Had a great time, met some fantastic people, and hope to do it again next year. It was funny that I had to fly almost 200 miles and James Hume had to drive for 5 hrs to find out we live 4 miles from each other lol. Small world . Thanks to all that put it together you guys and girls rock!
