Hi all:

As of 6:40 this morning, Camp Sonex is open. I came in early to skip out in front of the rain tonight and Friday.

I’ve done my best to locate going off Jeff’s earlier post. Backed up to the ditch just west of the blue barn. Close enough for me.

Looking forward to meeting everybody. Fly safe!

I spoke to a group of the parking crew folks asking them to hold space along the ditch. They said they’ll do their best. I believe I’m a little closer to the blue barn than the camp was last year — It’s a left turn right after the “bridge” south of taxiway Papa1. As it sits now, we could get 12-15 Sonexes in a row.

The poor class Delta controller is crazy busy this afternoon, and doing a great job!

Oh man, I wish I was going. Only one I’ve ever been to was in 2013. 2020 has a nice ring to it. Maybe then.

Hope all you guys have a good time.

wX forecast for Saturday is looking iffy. We might work our way as far into Iowa as we can, overnight then swing in Sunday morning. If Saturday is socked in, I can imagine Sunday afternoon will be a total epic unqualified goat poke.

hi all,
just a reminder.
please be careful flying to airventure. wx forcast now showing rain thru sunday. monday on is looking great. you may miss out on some lodging, camping rentals , but better to be safe . watch the weather and winds. stay put if in doubt. a plane just crashed in sheboygan on way to eaa , no details yet.
big storms in fox valley now and eaa.
be safe, fly safe!
added: the sheboygan crash was the de Havilland DH-112 Venom twin boomed british fighter bomber.

Got as far as Des Moines today. Landed short of my destination of Reedsburg as it was calling for low ceilings, rain, and mist. Fun! We’ll see what Saturday has in store.
