Sun-N-Fun 17 - Who's going?

Postby sonex1374 » Mon Apr 03, 2017 9:38 am

I'm planning to be at Sun-N-Fun most of the week, and would like to meet up and hang out with any Sonex builders or pilots. Who all is planning to attend? Drop me a message if you'd like to get together, and stop by homebuilt camping on Friday night for the podcast!

I'll be down for the 7th straight year in W0082. The plan is to spend Tuesday night in Cedar Key then have an easy ride in Wednesday AM.

Planning to park in Homebuilt Camping. Probably won't camp though. Too many Hilton points. I hope Uber goes to Tampa...:)

I intended to fly down but #600 isn't quite done with the annual condition inspection. So dad and I will be driving down Friday and there for the full day Sat and probably 1/2 the day Sun.

I met up with Paul in homebuilt camping last night, and I'm on the look out for any other Sonex builders. I'm still planning to have an informal get together at my plane (in homebuilt camping, row 10 I think). We'll meet up Friday evening about 7:30 or so. Come join us for the fancy meal....steaks, chicken, or salmon, with all the fixins! You do need to drop by the hospitality tent and put your order in prior, though.

See you all there!

Had a great time at the show, and enjoyed meeting up with all the other builders and pilots that also attended. It was fun hanging out at the homebuilt camping hospitality tent. For those of you who haven't been there, Mary and crew put on a great event and really roll out the red carpet. They also cook dinner every night and make it easy to camp without hauling a bunch of food!

To everyone that couldn't make it, I look forward to seeing you there one of these years!

It was good to see you, Jeff. The Sonex community was slightly outnumbered by the RV's but we managed at least one Sonex, one Waiex, and one Onex on the field at one time.

I had a bit of a starting issue but the Homebuilt Camping crew (and Jeff) came to my rescue to get the Jabiru cranked in order to get home. Always an adventure when traveling by lightplane.

Thanks and I hope for a bigger showing at OSH...:)
