Don't worry...your friend won't be the only outsider. I'm planning on flying down in the Wheeler Express first thing Saturday morning with the wife and father. I think we want to get down there around 9:00ish and stay until mid afternoon as well. As far as I can see it's supposed to be simply beautiful! I hope to see everyone there! :D

The wife and I have contracted some kind of respiratory infection, and are both coughing and wheezing. It looks like we're not going to make it to Crossville.

That's too bad, Andy. I hope you both get to feeling better ASAP...

I was fortunate enough to attend the AMA gathering this morning through early afternoon, and what a treat it was! The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful in central TN. We arrived around 9:00 just in time to see a nice 4 ship formation display:

I didn't get an exact count but it seemed that there were a little over 20 Sonex/Waiex's, and a brand new Xenos was also displayed. I was told the bad weather in central Florida forced some people to leave late Friday to beat the weather home and/or prevent people from attending. Either way it was a great turn out and there were lots of beautiful airplanes to look over.

Excellent job to all pilots, builders and planners of the ASA gathering this year!

Thanks for the pix Mike - curious, as one of them had a three bladed prop....any idea what was inside the cowling?

I can't be positive but I think it had a Jab 3300 with the three blade warp drive prop. I tried to take a quick look since the prop and cowling was throwing me and saw the billet Jabiru cylinders in there. It had a neat sound as it flew over!

I had a great time on Saturday, too. I was so busy talking (mainly about tailwheel mods) that I took very few pics and they were not that great. The best pic I took all day was a shot of my Kolb at sunset back home...

It was great meeting you, Mike. I feel a bit bad about the ride you got. Bumpy, trim was off, and crappy landing. I don't want you to think badly of the airplane.

Ted and Nancy (Xenos) are on their way back at this moment...

Not at all Kip, I'm very grateful for the ride in your beautiful plane! I had a blast and it was a huge motivator to get back out and keep working on mine. Thank you so much for the chance to demo your beautiful plane! :D I'm glad you made it home safe and I want to see the sunset Kolb picture
