Hi Bryan,

Not sure about the 21st but Kathy and I are driving up to Poplar Grove this Saturday for our Chapter 153 (Schaumburg) picnic (weather looking questionable for flying in). We have a couple of our members who live up there and they are hosting this years picnic.

If you will be around, PM me your address or phone number and we'll drop by.

Hi all,
Picked up a great book at the eaa wearhouse during osh16. All about C77 Poplar Grove airport and a longtime flier there Paul Wallem. Book is titled Private Wings....my life in logbooks. Would love to visit somday. Fly-in is coming up. Enjoy all sonex folks attending.

Just a reminder for those within range of C77- WX looks good tomorrow and the breakfast goes 7 to noon. At 1400 they do flour bomber bingo with J3 as the weapon of choice. Adam and I chucked on the wings and tail and then built this redneck Waiex dolly:

It took us about 10 minutes to install the wings. They are just pinned in 4 places, we have not put the flaps & ailerons on yet. I am very pleased with the fit of the 3/8" bolts.

Bryan, have fun today, I'm going to scratch due to the forecasted winds between 10a-8p. Your plane is looking great!

Sorry to miss you Josh! We are going to tie the Waiex to the harley as it is a bit windy!

Just met Terry Cooper, Sonex 1508 from Wisconsin. He is close to flying!

We won't be there either - winds are over my limit

I was always fascinated with the Baby Great Lakes. I wanted to build one and once flew up to Binghamton to look at a flying one for sale. My younger son Matthew was quite taken with it. I need to get my tanks filled and start welding lessons!

Robbie it was pretty windy! We had a lot of interest in the Waiex. It was definitely a good time!

Bryan, you need to finish that gorgeous Waiex so we have a patrol to take to fly ins!

Thanks - I was wondering how it was up there and second guessing myself.
