Hi Everyone,

The forecast is looking better and better for SUNDAY (see attachment). Tomorrow I will be stomping around in the mud, looking for the best area to park the airplanes in the swamp. I intend to land around 6:30 am and will place my aircraft where we will need to park. This may be in another location. Taxi along runway 8/26 and you will see where to go. If we can exit the runway and park at the hanger watch for my tracks in the grass or other markings. I will try to be there to direct you. Stay dry and blue skies.

Bob

Hi everybody, Rick Ranse is flying up from Arkansas and will land here around five. He and I will see all of you first thing in the morning here at Gardner. Watch out for water and taxi from the fuel rail past the red glider and straight east. Watch for directions. Bob

I had a great time at the MidWest Sonex fly-in this year! I attended a few times in the past, but this was my first year to fly my Sonex to it. The fly-in was postponed to Sunday due to weather. I flew in late Saturday afternoon and Bob Mika was kind enough to let me stay at his house for the night. Thanks Bob! We got up at 5:30am went on a dounut run and flew his plane over to Gardner KS airport for the fly-in. Weather could not have been better. There was a total of 5 polished Sonex aircraft (Bob is a bad influence in the Midwest) that showed up for the fly-in. I had a wonderful time talking Sonex aircraft and seeing all my Sonex friends I had met over the years. Time flew by too quickly and it was time to return home at 12:30pm to miss the afternoon thunder showers on my return flight to Fayetteville AR. Made it home about 2:30pm about an hour before some some storms moved into the area. Looking forward to next years Midwest Sonex Fly-in and hope to see everyone at Oshkosh!

Here are some photo's I took this year at the Midwest Sonex Fly-in.

Cool and thanks for the pics Bob and Rick. Weather looks pretty good in the pics but it is Kansas after all!

I love that Camit.

Thanks Bob for hosting the MWSFI each year. This was the first year I was able to fly in. The weather couldn't have been better at Gardner and it was great to visit with other Sonex flyers & enthusiasts. Great presentations on the B models and Camit engines. I want one of each. Flew into some light rain just before landing in Wichita and just after getting 568SX in the hangar, the hail started. Timed perfect!
