Sonex sold to Mark and the employees

We all knew John would retire someday.

In other news, the Mothership is locked down until 7 January due to inventory and accounting system changes, so no orders until then.

Glad Sonex is in experienced hands. I wish the press release would have mentioned the elephant in the room: Electrification. I bought a Xenos Quick Build kit at Oshkosh because Sonex supports the Zero Electric Motorcycle motor mount vs Vans, who does not. EVs are here and we EAA'ers should be putting the E in Experimental. Pun intended. The Kitplanes article about Gabriel Devault's eXenos convinced me to purchase a Xenos kit.

Perhaps an electric propulsion subsidiary will better position Sonex, LLC for the future, and make tons of profit selling EV components. During the Gold Rush, the purveyors of picks and shovels made the most profit.

Both Erik Lindberg, Bert Rutan, Gabriel Devault and Kaylyn motivated me to build an eXenos to replace my gas-guzzling Cessna 172. See: https://youtu.be/FoFyZne_UJc

Keep the parts and kits coming!

I believe Vans Aircraft is an employee owned company. Not sure how that is setup, perhaps a group of employees created an ownership group.

However, I think this is now owned by Mark exclusively and not by any other employee. Mark is very level headed and the Sonex brand is in good hands.

Congratulations.

The press release says Mark bought the company. No mention of employees.

Hi all,
First, congrats to john and betty.!

Second congrats to Mark. ! WOW! he runs a steady ship.
Also to heather as the new GM!
and to all the sonex employees!

Good to see new products coming, incl expanded development UL and Jabiru offerings. Would love to see a full
rotax 912 fwf package, ring mount please, for the B’s and the onex. this will get around the exhaust pipes issue.

best of luck to SonexLLC.

fly safe!
