Onex Panel

I want to put a new panel in my Onex. I do not have any experience with CAD software and I don't own any CAD software. Can someone recommend a basic CAD program that I can use to design a new panel?

Also does anyone have the outline of a Onex panel that I can load into a CAD program?

Thanks.

Why not go old school and just cut out a card board template of the panel and templates for each instrument and switch you are considering using? Much easier to move around to see what fits and works ergonomically.

Michael,

That has been my plan but I just thought I would ask about CAD and see if anyone had done it and could recommend a program.

I've been using Visio for years...cheap and easy to use. I use it professionally to do automatic temp control design. I did my panel layout and wiring diagram with it.

I use Google SketchUp for much of my 3D drawings when I want to make stuff on the 3D printer. It would be fine for a panel. Can be used for free, many videos and 'howto' available on youtube. fairly easy to learn.

That being said, I made my panel 'old-school'.
