A video of Michael Smith doing some aerobatics. https://youtu.be/nWH4UZ6ntTo

I've overlayed the primary flight data, engine data & G loading. Made in part using the 'Flight Data Viewer'. https://JASFlyer.com

Interesting Found my Engima AHRS doesn't keep up well during some acro.

Here is similar using the Garmin VIRB camera's built in sensors.

These overlays are awesome.

I think there might be a slight error in the way the artificial horizon is being drawn. It seems when the airplane is upside-down the pitch shown on the overlay is opposite of reality. I suspect it has to do with the order that pitch&roll are applied to make the visualization.

Also, you've probably considered this, but it would be interesting to see what it looks like if you interpolate the data and the overlay to the frame rate of the rest of the video.

Hey Chris,

I'll look again at how the horizon is rendered when the plane is upside down. Thanks.

I'll think about the idea of interpolating data between the events that MGL saves. Will need to go on the back burner for now - I'm busy getting a release ready that will support Dynon Skyview devices. MGL records events at most every one second. Even then some seconds are skipped (the devices' processor can't keep up, and it's busy doing higher priority tasks). Interestingly most of the Dynon data logs I've seen capture 10 events per second. So that rendering will be much smoother right out of the box.
