Donation Sought Of Sonex, Waiex or Xenos Kit

Postby CamdenYAviation » Thu Aug 02, 2018 10:38 am

Good Morning All,

The Camden Youth Aviation Program of Camden NJ is seeking the donation of a 2 seat Sonex aircraft kit (i.e., Sonex, Waiex or Xenos) which we could build with our young people. Our hope would be to receive an un-started or minimally worked upon kit but we would consider all offers. Our goal is to have our young people build the aircraft and then have a chance to fly in the aircraft and possibly even take lessons in it. We would also be looking for any tools that people would be willing to donate to support the build of the aircraft.

The Camden Youth Aviation Program tries to show the inner city and disadvantaged youth of Camden and Southern NJ all aspects of aviation and that there is more to life than what they see in their neighborhoods. Also by introducing them to aviation, we are hoping to give them something to dream about and to inspire them to rise above the limits of their environment. Our goals are to use aviation to show our young people: 1) reasons to stay in school, 2) the practical applications of STEM, 3) exciting and rewarding careers open to them, and 4) role models truly worthy of respect. We also try to act as a resource to schools and youth organizations to make them aware of educational aviation programs, resources and contests. The program is open to all Camden and Southern NJ youth who are interested in aviation. Participation in the Camden Youth Aviation Program is not limited to any one group or organization, but welcomes all young people who are interested in aviation. The Camden Youth Aviation Program is incorporated as a Non-Profit Corporation in the State of NJ and is a certified 501(c)3 non-profit charity.

The donation of the kit would be tax deductible since since we are a 501(c)3 non-profit.

Parties interested in donating a kit, tools or knowing someone who might have an available kit should contact Ira Weissman at 856-354-0173 or via email at camdenyouthaviation@live.com or Don Powell at 856-380-0709.

More information about the Camden Youth Aviation Program can be found at http://www.camdenyap.org

Thank You for your time and interest.
