Windshield

Postby bakerde36 » Wed Feb 07, 2018 11:27 am

I would like to replace my windshield in future and was wondering if I could buy a piece of lexan from like Lowes and make it work or is the one from the factory specially made?
I know the canopy would be hard to replace due to the complex curve but not sure about the windshield. Thanks Densil

The one from the factory is tinted. You can use a piece from Lowe's but it probably won't have the same tint.

Home depot sells 4'x8'x.118" bronze tinted polycarbonate sheet with uv protection. $243.80. Ship to store or home delivery only, not immediately available in store. UV coating and bronze tint appears to be is a pretty rare combination. You can search home depot for GE-101

I did a do over on my windscreen for my Onex build and I got the same bronze tinted lexan sheet from a screen door company in Milwaukee for $100 (they cut it to size so I didn't have to buy a bigger sheet)
