Belite "Bingo Fuel" Liquid Detector

Belite just introduced this nifty liquid detector that threads into a 1/8" NPT port. This would make an excellent low-fuel warning sensor in the main fuel tank. Simply add an Oops fitting to your tank at around the 4 gallon mark and thread in the sensor. When the fuel level drops below the sensor, the red light illuminates. Pretty cool! Black Friday sale is $70, regular price is $100.

Ha, I have one on order as well. But someone on the Sportsman forum pointed out that this device can be had from much less on amazon. Live and learn.

I have one of those Amazon ultrasonic fluid level sensors that I've been playing with for the past few months. It works well within a narrow set of parameters, like setting up a test tank filled with water. However, I could not get it to reliably sense the fuel level in my Sonex tank. This could be due to the thicker wall of the tank, the plastic used in the tank, or nearby objects causing interference. It worked intermittently when testing on the ground, and not at all in-flight. Hopefully to Belite sensor is better matched to our uses.

Dose the sensor work on aluminum tanks?

I don't think so, although I didn't try that specifically. The instructions do talk about the tank material affecting the sensor's ability to pass thru the tank wall, but they were translated from something other than English and are not very good.

Hi all,
Thanks for the posts. in jeffs post w pic, he shows the belite, looks to be a 1/8 NPT thread . in the post from brs, looks like the bingo 4 just attaches to outside tank and uses ultrasound? it also shows being mounted on aluminum. billy did you see that?
