I haven't posted my Waiex information yet and will here shortly, but if anyone is in the midwest and wants the name of an excellent insurance agent who does a great job, I recommend:

Mrs. Candy Eichenberger
Avinsure Agency, Inc.
www.avinsureagency.com
740-88104188

Candy helped me a lot with first flight coverage even though I only had a few hours of Sonex time prior to my first flight. She actively shops for my policy every year and always gives me the best options to choose from.

I just renewed my policy in March, and here's the info:

Insured through Global Aerospace
AeroVee Waiex TD
Hull Value: $35,000

Premium: $914

Hangared, AOPA discount
Based at a paved 4200' runway
Named pilot policy only: I have ATP, 6000TT, 300 tailwheel, 350 in make&model

Can't give you an apple to apple comparison for premium's, but its REALLY hard to beat this company for pricing and services. I used them for my Cessna and both my RV-10 and RV-9A. Whenever the discussion turns to insurance over in the Van's RV crowd, A.J.G. is generally the top recommendation. Shanna Linton is their go to person for EXP Aircraft and really knows about home-built/experimental aircraft: https://www.ajg.com/s/light-aircraft-insurance/

Mine has wandered between $950-$1050 depending on the year, on my Waiex taildragger.
This last year was $1,000 even and will be up for renewal before Sept. 15. Expect little change
Hull is $40K. Million dollar liability. Pretty standard stuff. Zero deductible moving or not. Six years, no claims and still trying to be careful and thorough. Averaged 100hrs a year since 2011.
Falcon Insurance.
