Solid Throttle Cable with Aeroconversions Quadrant

I am using the Aeroconversions Throttle Quadrant with my MA3-SPA Carb and replaced the braided cable with a solid .078" ACS throttle cable. I am having trouble terminating the solid cable at the throttle lever. The Aeroconversions method of passing the cable through the bolt and tightening it between two washers just doesn't work with the solid cable. No matter how tight, it will eventually slip. Has anyone used the Aeroconversions throttle quadrant with a solid throttle cable? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I used a wire grip and I believe a small rod end. I can take a picture in a bit.

Thanks Mike. I am interested in seeing the pictures. I don't see how you could fit a wire grip and rod end with the rest of it being stock since the lever nearly touches the quadrant mounting plate at idle.

Mike and I can't be the only ones using solid cable with the aeroconversions quadrant. I could really use some ideas here as I am at an impass. Thanks.

Thanks for the picture Mike. I suppose I should have mentioned that I need the configuration to be pull-open push-closed. There is a lot more room for the rod end and cable clamp in your pull-closed push-open configuration.

Ok, sorry I was thinking that carb was the same config as mine.

I have been using my throttle quadrant for 435 hours with a solid cable, no problems. The original owner put a RC axle stop after the bolt for added safety.

Ken, have you been using the standard two washer method for terminating the solid wire at the throttle lever?

Yes, just as the instruction sheet shows. If I remember, you are not tightening the cable between two washers, you are tightening the outside washer against the cable swivel stop. The inside washer is just a spacer. You can fully tighten the nut and the swivel will still move easily. You might need a L ,thinner, washer on the inside if there is too much drag on the swivel.
